PURPOSE:To recover and reuse metals and resins by treating waste water effectively by the method in which a waste water containing combined heavy metals such as silver and lead, copper, etc., is treated with two kinds of chelate resins to remove silver and the other heavy metals separatively by adsorption. CONSTITUTION:A waste water containing combined heavy metals, e.g., silver and cadmium, lead, etc., is first brought into contact with a chelate resin consisting of a resin base, e.g., styrene-divinylvenzene copolymer, etc., with functional groups, e.g., dithiocarbamic acid group, etc., having a selective adsorbability for silver, in order to remove silver alone, and then brought into contact with a chelate resin consisting of a resin base, e.g., styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer, etc., with functional group, e.g., iminopropionate group, etc., having a selective adsorbability for metals other than silver. Thus, silver, the other heavy metals, chilate resins can be effectively separated from one another for recovery and reuse. |
