PURPOSE:To provide the subject device of a cheap price and a compact structure in which multiple heads can be easily provided comprising means for injecting ink drops only as necessary, means for charging ink drops and deflecting charged ink drops. CONSTITUTION:Respective ink drops injected from an ink jet injection head 31 correspond respectively 1:1 to printing signals from printing signal source 38. The ink drops injected by printing signals are all charged by a charge electrode 32, and deflected in the horizontal direction by the saw tooth voltage of a deflecting electrode 33. When the head 31 or the recording paper 37 is shifted in the perpendicular direction between the electrodes, a picture image or a letter can be recorded on the recording paper. When there is no printing signal, no ink drop is injected, and an ink recovering system is not required. Therefore, it is unnecesary to provide the ink jet injection heads in the number of picture elements, and provision of multiple heads can be performed inexpensively and with allowance in space. |
