Reduction in dusting of pigments - by mixing aq. emulsion of epoxidised fatty acid deriv., free from wetting agent,with pigment dispersion

An aq. emulsion of epoxidised fatty acid deriv., made in high-pressure dispersion equipment without use of wetting agent, is added to aq. dispersions of pigments to reduce dusting of the dyr pigment. Pref. epoxidised soya, tall or linseed oil is used, in amt. 5-15 wt. % based on dry pigment. No loss of colour strength in use of the pigments occurs and no extra work is required in dispersing them for use.
