The rail vehicle disc brake has friction pads mounted in a caliper which straddles a disc. One of the pads is applied directly to the disc by an actuator associated with one of the arms of the caliper, the other pad being applied to the opposite face of the disc via a reaction mechanism which displaces the caliper. The latter consists of two rigid arms disposed on opposite sides of the disc, the arms being joined by a cross arm allowing relative movement to compensate for angular movement of the disc w.r.t. the caliper. |
