Rotary core instrument for scanning, pivoted mirror - has armature loaded vertically to prevent play in spindle bearings

The rotary core instrument, esp. an iron rod type, is pref. for the drive of a scanning, pivoted mirror. An armature mounted in the spindle bearings is rotatable about the spindle. The armature is weighed vertically to the spindle to prevent play in the bearings. The armature is surrounded by >=2 magnetic yokes with coils and a pair of pole pieces. A permanent magnet is installed between the yokes, namely, between neighbouring pole pieces. The armature (3) is mounted eccentrically to its axis of rotation (4) to provide the vertical loading. The pole pieces of the magnetic yokes (1, 2) are correspondingly mounted radial asymmetric w.r.t. the axis of rotation.
