Double-skin bellows pipe expansion joint - has annular chambers in bellows and pipe ends butt welded together

The expansion joint can accommodate length and/or angular alterations in pipelines. A double-skinned metal bellows is welded to coupling pieces at both ends. The pipes to be coupled (3) each have a groove (3b) in the end face forming an annular chamber. The two axial ends (1c, 1d) of the bellows (1) also contain annular chambers (1e), whose sides are formed by the inner and outer skins. The open ends, towards each other, of the chambers are butt-welded together.
