Two speed PTO and tractor coupling shaft - has reversible mounting allowing attachment to either coaxial drive shaft (OE 15.7.79)

The two speed PTO for the tractor has concentric drive shafts (1, 2) rotating a different speeds and a special coupling shaft (5) which is inserted either way round to select the drive speed. The coupling shaft has a specially shaped flange and assymetric design so that the securing bolts (11) can only be inserted into the correct drive shaft. The coupling plate has thickened flanges which cover some of the holes so that the bolt cannot reach the wrong tapped holes and couple to the wrong drive shaft.
