The counter in a bank or post office includes a structure through which a person one side can deliver cassettes containing money etc., to a person on the other side of the counter. Below an observation window there is an opening through the partition or wall (1) protected by a metal frame (2b, 2c). Inside this are two metal drums (5, 6) each with a rectangular compartment inside (7, 8) to hold the cassettes (13, 14). Each drum can be rotated about its vertical axis by chain drives (9) driven by a motor (10). On one side of the counter is an opening (4) in line with each compartment and a similar opening on the other side. The latter two openings can be blocked by a sliding plate (11) which also has two openings (12) in line with the compartments in the open position. The compartments face opposite directions.
