<p>The dyes are of formula (I) in the free acid form: (where R and R' = H or non-ionic substituents such as lower alkyl alkoxy, Cl, Br, CN or CF3; and R and R' may be the same or different). Prepd. by coupling diazotised 2-amino-1%3-benzthiazole-5-sulphonic acid with a R and R'-substd. 2-methyl-indole in known manner. Used as yellow dyes for wool and silk and partic. for synthetic polyamides, e.g. nylon-66 and -6, having high fastness to light and wet treatments.</p> |
