The switch is intended for use in an insulating gaseous medium. It consists for each pole of a rotatable single or double action isolator blade interacting with a fork-type fixed contact, and with a lagging behind contact in parallel with it. The lagging contact consists of at least one springy (steel) wire (10, 11) mounted at the point of the blade (6) rotation, or on the blade (6) itself. It interacts with a catching device on the fixed contacts, which holds it until the opening movement of the blade sharply pulls it out.
