<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform rapidly operations in any other mode than a reproduction mode by putting a device in the reproduction mode on detecting an initial signal recorded in each block of a magnetic tape and in another mode on detecting a terminal signal. CONSTITUTION:While information recorded on a tape in tape recorder 1 is reproduced firstly, an initial signal and terminal signal are recorded in each information block by reverse head 20. Next, recorder 1 is put in a rapid traverse mode or rewind mode and when the initial signal of information selected first is extracted, this signal is supplied to binary counter 50 by way of terminal P of analog switch 15 and amplifier 49. Here, the pulse signal of the initial signal is counted and AND gate 61a outputs a signal of level ''H'' to put recorder 1 in a reproduction mode. Once the terminal signal of this information is outputted from head 20, circuit 61a outputs a signal of level ''L'' to put recorder 1 in another mode, e.g. retrieval mode for another information block.</p> |
