The cable fitting has a prefabricated hollow cylindrical insulating part to close the end of the cable wires electrically and/or mechanically. The insulating part consists of at least two elastic plastic bodies (1, 2) radially one above the the other an connected to one another jointlessly. The inner body has a greater residual pressure deformation than the outer. The outer body (1) is made of permanently strained material with small residual tensile deformation and the inner body (2) is made of a flowable plastic. The outer body (1) is pushed on by deformation.
