The travel wheel drive is for cranes and travelling overhead crabs etc, the wheel being accommodated inside a box girder and having trunnions on both sides working in bearings fixed in the girder webs. A driving motor is flange-mounted on the inside girder web, with its stub shaft in line with and coupled to the inner trunnion. The inner wheel trunnion (4) and the motor stub shaft (13) have on their end faces transverse keys or ribs, engaging in intersecting transverse grooves in the end faces of a loose intermediate disc fitted between them.
