One or more cold water circuits are provided in conjunction with a cooling machine set up above the surface, with a primary circuit shaft ring duct, and high-pressure heat-exchangers, incorporated into a secondary circuit, with cold water passing in a counterflow to the brine. The heat-exchanger adjoining the down duct is incorporated into a tertiary circuit, carrying brine, together with a low-pressure heat-exchanger, sited in the secondary circuit downstream from other high pressure heat-exchangers and from an outlet in a bypass duct downstream from these. This duct branches off upstream of the last-named high-pressure heat-exchangers.
