A tubular condenser for a refrigerator or freezer is made from a continuous length of tube with a succession of hairpin bends so that the sections of the tube between bends, lie parallel to each other. The straight sections of the tube are joined together by a sheet of metal. Rows of rectangular openings are stamped in this sheet and the metal from the opening is bent outwards at right angles to form fins. The metal between the rows of openings is slightly curved to provide a good area of contact with the tube.
