In order to brake the motor (1) immediately after disconnection, an auxiliary voltage is picked off via a tab (3) on the motor winding (2). Said auxiliary voltage is rectified by a diode (4) and is passed via a resistor (5) to a capacitor (6) which starts to charge as soon as the switch (7) is closed. At the same instant, the relay (8) also pulls in and moves the changeover switch (9) to that position in which voltage is applied to the motor (1). When the switch (7) is opened, the relay (8) trips, as a result of which the changeover switch (9) changes over, the motor (1) is disconnected from the power supply and the capacitor (6) discharges via the resistor (5) into the motor winding (2), which leads to the motor (1) being blocked without any delay. <IMAGE>
