<p>A method of, and apparatus for transmitting electrical power along the borehole of an oil or gas well being drilled or in production. The invention has particular application in downhole monitoring, an electrical sensor (10) for the particular parameter feeding its output signals to A", B" and via, respectively, an insulated central section of the tubing string (2) and the casing (1) these signals being withdrawn at A, B for suitable monitoring. An isolating sub (11) for electrically insulating the central section of the string is disclosed. </p> |
