PURPOSE:To provide the title fluid having excellent grindability and rust-proofing properties, and free from problems such as carcinogenecity and waste liquid disposal, containing sodium molybdate and triethanolamine as essential components. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble grinding fluid composed of 1-20wt% sodium molybdate, 1-20wt% of triethanolamine, and the remaining part of water. 1- 20wt% of the water can be replaced with (a) a lubricant, such as a polyhydric alcohol e.g. ethylene glycol, glycerine sorbitol, etc., an alkali metal salt of a >=10C carboxylic acid e.g. olefinic acid, 12-hydroxystearic acid, etc. a sizing agent such as CMC, etc., (b) an extreme pressure agent such as an alkyl phosphate, etc., (c) a rust-proofing agent such as caprylic acid, etc., (d) an antiseptic agent such as triazine-type antiseptic, and/or (e) a defoaming agent such as silicone polymer, etc. |
