PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation of polyphenylene oxide resin under the combined actions of light, heat and oxygen, by adding a specific phosphite compound. CONSTITUTION:100 Parts by weight of a polyphenylene oxide resin is compounded with 0.01-5 parts, esp. 0.05-3 parts by weight of a phosphite compound of formula (R1 is tert-butyl, tert-amyl, cyclohexyl or phenyl; R2 is H, 1-5C alkyl, cyclohexyl, or phenyl; R3 is H or methyl; R4 is alkyl, arylalkyl, or alkyl, alkylaryl, alkoxyaryl, or cycoalkylaryl having ether bond in the molecule). |
