Trioxane, or other compound which yields formaldehyde, or a mixture of trioxane and a copolymerisable cyclic ether, containing not less than 40 moles % of trioxane, is polymerised in the presence of a catalyst Polymerisation, and especially copolymerisation, proceeds easily. The (co)polymers often have improved properties. Certain of the copolymers now made available could not be prepared with known catalysts. Smaller amounts of catalyst are needed. |
