The invention relates to an electrical connection element. The subject is a rivet intended for use as a connecting socket and whose body includes for this purpose peripheral longitudinal sharp- edged ribs with triangular profile which become impressed into the opening of the sheet metal into which the rivet penetrates, whilst its axial channel includes a contracted cylindrical span into which is snap-fitted a corresponding narrowed part of a contact pin penetrating into the rivet. Such a rivet can be used, for example, to construct an earth connection. <IMAGE>
