Title cpds. are of formula R1CHR2-CR3(NHCOR)-R4-CN and R1R2C(NHCOR)-CHR3-R4-CN where R1R2R3 = H or 1-8C alkyl, R1 may also contain C=C; R4 = 1-7C alkylene opt. lower alkyl substituted. R1 +R2 + R3 '+' R4 =15C. R = pref. H R1 and R4 may together form part of a 5- or 6-membered carbocyclic ring, R1 and R4 opt. being linked via a methylene bridge in the case of a 6-membered ring. These cpds. may be converted to aminonitriles, diamines, dinitriles etc. intermediates for plastics such as polyamides and polyurethanes. |
