<p>A vehicle seat incorporating a mechanism for adjusting the height of a seat cushion frame relative to a seat frame. The vehicle seat includes a seat frame and a seat cushion frame connected to the seat frame by two horizontally spaced cushion height adjustment mechanisms, at least one of the mechanisms including a supporting hingepivotally connected to the seat frame and to the seat cushion frame. A locking mechanism is operable to lock the hinge member against pivotal movement relative to the frames in any one of a plurality of selected rotational positions of the arm. A spring is mounted on the seat frame and biasses the hinge member upwardly. Unlike known devices, the seat occupant need not leave the seat and use both hands to make any necessary adjustment.</p> |
