A motor vehicle seat has seat and backrest portions upholstered with separate individual pads 1-4, 5-7, 12, 13, e.g. of foamed material, which are spaced apart, e.g. as at 11, and secured to seat and back-rest frames provided with ventilation or drainage holes 14-22 aligned with the spaces between the pads, the pad arrangement including at least one pad extending transversely between longitudinally extending pads. Each pad, such as 56 in Fig. 16, may comprise a base part 54 and a cover 55. Various arrangements for fixing the pads to the seat frame are described (Figs. 2-12, 16, 17). The seat may be carried by a pivoted link 45 so that it may fold over the steering wheel of the vehicle after disengaging a hook 51 from a part of the seat frame 48. A headrest pad (43, Fig. 13) may be folded down behind the back-rest 47. The backrest 47 may be adjustable in height by use of a locking screw (50, Fig. 14).</p> |
