Inking pad for duplicator using stencils - has fabric sheets holding soluble ink forming substance inside permeable envelope

A device carrying the images for use in a reproduction process such as the stencil of a duplicator, has the ink applied to it by means of an inking pad. The pad consists of an envelope containing a substance which on coming into contact with a liquid medium forms an ink. Part of the envelope consists of a permeable zone permitting the liquid to make contact with the substance and form ink. Another part of the envelope can be removed leaving an opening so that the ink formed can be applied to the stencil. Arrangement is of great value in duplicators in which a stencil is used. The pad is quite flexible and can be mounted on the cylinder of the machine. Means are available in the cylinder of increasing or reducing the pressure so that the amount of ink applied can be regulated. The pad is quite dry to the touch.
