Lightweight elastic supports for an elongated rotational casting mould - pref. using tyres to reduce vibration and inertia during movement

Elastic supports are used for a hollow mould required to rotate about a horizontal axis. Pref. the mould is supported by a series of tyres in a cradle which can be tilted longitudinally to allow resin to be cast along the mould surface before or during rotation. Esp. suitable for casting fibre-reinforced mouldings from liq., fibre-filled resins, Appts. is simpler, lighter and quieter than systems with rigid (metal) bearings for the mould and absorbs impulsed due to transient inbalance during rotation. Low thermal conductivity of the supports facilitates adjustments and control of the mould temp.
