The anti-aircraft missile is provided with a roll reference in order that corrections to the trajectory may be made. This is provided by an electromagnetic beam with linear polarisation. A laser diode provides a pulsed beam which is polarised and modulated prior to direction onto the missile. A detector(18) on a fin provides a signal representing roll rotation. Another detector(19) provides a normalised signal. The signals are amplified(28, 29) and filtered (68, 69) prior to application to synchronous demodulators (70, 71). Programmable dividers(72, 73) receive the normalised signal(Iii) together with outputs from the demodulator. The resultant signals are applied to a circuit(76) which determines roll angle to k pi radians. Additional circuits(77) determine the value for comparison with a memorised model value(78).
|
