The hot and cold water supply is mounted in a sound-proof housing. It derives its mechanical energy from a heat engine with a piston supplied with gas by a first pipe and cold air for combustion by a second pipe. The engine positioned in the middle of the housing drives a compressor of a refrigeration plant through a coupling. The compressor takes in the vapour of a refrigerant formed in an evaporator, compresses it and forces it back into a condenser where it gives up heat to the surrounding medium. The heat engine also drives an alternator which produces the necessary electrical energy to drive pumps and fans. The refrigerating plant is connected with two heat transfer circuits associated with heating and cooling respectively. The first circuit includes a heat exchanger conveying heat to the heat output.
|
