<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an electronic copier of high stability, by discharging the copying paper remaining in the conveying route automatically when the power source is turned on, and operating the fixing means after detecting the discharge of copying paper. CONSTITUTION:When the power switch is turned on, a motor is driven and idles for 11 seconds, for example, so that no paper may remain in the copying paper conveying route. Checking paper detection switches 75, 86, 87, if one of them is at ON position, there is possibility that paper, which is not supposed to exist, may be left over in the conveying route. Therefore, the fixing apparatus does not operate. A charge erasing lamp 27 and a charge removing lamp 25a are illuminated for 11 seconds in order to take all the latent images and charges on a photoreceptor 14. Since the fixing means is put in operation after confirming freedom from paper by monitoring the state of each detecting switch, accident due to first copy after turning on the power source may be prevented, so that the safety may be enhanced.</p> |
