The gain-control system has a measurement container for recording the temp. before the transmission link is adjusted and for undertaking temp. measurements at least whilst the link is being adjusted. The amplifier is located in another container. The measurement container is incorporated in the same way and subjected to the same climate as the amplifier's container. The advantage lies in being able to determine precisely the level for controlling or correcting the gain.
