<p>Handle for implements especially for garden forks, shovels, spades, axes, is composed of a glass fibre-reinforced plastics envelope and a core of comparatively lighter material. The envelope has oval cross-section, its wall thickness being greater near the major axis of the oval than near the minor one, in such a way that its greatest wall thickness lies at the apex of sharpest curvature. The greatest wall thickness is about twice the smallest wall thickness. The core is made of hard form whose apparent bulk density and wt. increases from the centre outwards. The core is pref. composed of several concentric tubes.</p> |
