A liquid aqs. coffee extract is chilled to between 80 and 36 degrees F. A ppte forms and this is separated from the extract before further chilling of the extract for conventional freeze concn. The ppte. which is removed by either filtering or centrifuging would otherwise block the freeze concn. system.
