Transportable shelter e.g. for use at bus stops, comprises a base plate, sidewalls and a roof. At least the base plate and the sidewalls comprise a laminate composed of a 3-ply laminate made up of a load-bearing core with glass-fibre-reinforced plastics ply on either side. The outer plies of base plate and sidewalls may be integrally laminated together. One sidewall may have an opening serving as entry/exit and door fittings may be incorporated into opposite edges of the entry/exit opening. The roof is pref. made of transparent, GFR plastics. The core plies are pref. made of polyurethane foam. The core of the base plate is pref. water-resistant plywood.
