The cross-country ski binding is composed of a baseplate (210) with lateral guide walls (212) on both sides, on one of which walls (212) a holding-down device (220) is mounted so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis (260) situated in the longitudinal direction of the binding, from an entry position pointing upwards into a locking position which is folded down onto the other lateral guide wall. A releasable belt (254) in the form of a catch holds the holding-down device in the locked position. The transverse extent of the holding-down device (220) ensures that the baseplate (210) does not have to be extended forwards beyond the lateral guide walls (212) in order to support the pivot mechanism for the holding-down device. Furthermore, a cross-country ski binding of such a design is simpler to manufacture and convenient to handle. <IMAGE> |
