Corrugated cardboard multi-ply laminate web contains a plastics ply interposed between paper plies. The plastics ply is a thermoplastics film web, pref. a polyethylene film. The corrugated web consists of several plies and extends only over a pre-determined part of the width of the cardboard. Mfr. comprises preparing >=1 multi-ply web with plastics core ply and outer paper plies, corrugating them, and adhesively bonding them to >=1 cover plies. The multi-ply web is made using thermoplastics film which is weld-bonded in 1 operational step together with the corrugating step. The corrugated core is pref. a polyethylene/paper laminated web.
