The wall-inset box has a disc closing its open front end. The disc has a central recess containing a colouring that dissolves and diffuses into the plaster or mortar apllied to the box as a result of the water in the plaster or mortar. - The disc (12) forms a cover or lid fitting onto the box (10). The recess (16) is formed by a well in the disc extending inwards into the box. The colouring (18) does not fill the recess; i.e. a gap is left between the plane of the colouring and the plane of the front of the box. The edge of the cover may be raised so that the main part is inset into the box.
