Yarn tension control for warp knitters

A variable tension device is provided for at least one of the two warp blankets fed to the warp knitter, with a programme control and servo motor to operate a push rod with a roller to increase the tension as the knitter slows down. The purpose is to provide an optimum tension on the warp throughout according to the speed/time relationship of the knitter, and to prevent stop lines being knitted into the fabric as a visual indication of each stop/start operation, leading to fabric wastage.
