<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the distance between a tape and a cylinder in a recording and reproducing device consisting of the cylinder mounted with a magnetic head and opposite to this, a cassette setting mechanism for descending the tape by providing a tapered part on the upper periphery of the cylinder and slipping down the tape when it runs on the upper part of the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:When a cassette 18 is loaded into a cassette holder 17, the cassette 18 is descended by the cassette setting mechanism, which is not shown in the figure, to move the cassette 18 in the direction of C. Then, a lid 21 is half opened by an opening and closing mechanism not shown in the figure, and the lower edge part of the tape 20 is exposed and further descended to release the tape from the lid 21 to be dropped down. In this case, the tape 20 may run on an upper cylinder 23 of the rotary cylinder 25, but the tape 20 slips down not to run over because of the taper part provided on the upper periphery of the cylinder 23, thus allowing the distance between the tape 20 and the cylinder 25 to be short enough, and the device is miniaturized.</p> |
