Manual override for electric railway current collector - includes geared hand lever and sprung clutch operating as alternative to electric drive

The servo drive for lifting the pantograph uses an electric motor (3) linked to the lifting arm (6) by a reduction gearing along one side of the servo housing. The reduction gearing is linked to the lifting arm by a worm gear and a manual overide is included as a crank between the worm gear and the reduction gearing. The crank lever is coupled to the gearing by a simple clutch (4) on one end of a gearing shaft. The crank provides a rapid operation of the pantograph, when the onboard standby power is not available.
