The generator has a vertical shaft (20) which carries radial arms (4). A curved blade (1) is pivoted at the end of each arm so that it swings into the wind on the driving half of the rotation and out of it on the return half. A guide rail (2) extends backwards from the blade behind the point of pivot. A counterweight (3) for the blade slides on the rail and balances the centrifugal force of the blade as the blade swings. The counterweight is connected to the radial arm (4) by a hinged connecting rod (7). The arrangement allows quick movement.
