<p>A process for making composite panels having thermally and acoustically insulating, vibration-damping properties, for floors or walls, where one component is natural timber, consists of applying onto the timber part a liquid plastic of a type which bonds directly to wood. This is then foamed during hardening, to form a finished unit with the timber part. The resulting board is of single-block or parquet-flooring type, with the plastic (pref. a two-component foam) intimately bonded to the wood.</p> |
