<p>The hydro-pneumatic shock absorber is for a motor vehicle, comprises two telescopic tubes with closed ends. A piston in the inner tube separates a gas chamber from an oil chamber which is divided into two by a valve. The valve consists of a rigid disc with bores arranged on a pitch circle and closures on one side which act in conjunction with the bores. This means consist of a packet of resilient discs secured to the centre of the disc. The disc further has constantly open throttle openings whose total cross-sectional area is considerably less than the total area of the bore.</p> |
