PURPOSE:To elminate a transparent resin case of a semiconductor light emission device by projecting light from a semiconductor light emittion device provided on a printed board in parallel with the printed board via reflecting surface. CONSTITUTION:A printing electrode 12 is applied vertically in space from band- like common printing electrode 13 in parallel with longitudinal direction on a printed board 11. Connectors 13a are integrally formed with the electrode 13. Light emission elements 14 are disposed equidistantly on the electrode 13, and connected via wires 19 to the corresponding electrodes 12. White resin reflecting member 16 is provided on the board 11. The member 16 is so formed on the white resin plate as to open trapezoidal groove 16a on the long bottom thereof and that side wall 17 of the groove forms the light reflecting surface of the elements 14. Thus, lights are projected in parallel with the board 11 to retain the intensity at the board 11 to thus eliminate the transparent case. Accordingly, no segment discontinuity occurs at the connectors of one-dimensional array displays.
