DEVICE WITH A FOUR-POINT SUPPORT OF A HEAVY BODY ON ANOTHER BODY

A device providing a four-point support for a heavy body. A platform is carried on a mobile support unit and is vertically movable thereon for engagement beneath a heavy body to be transported. The platform is raised by four vertically acting fluid cylinders located beneath the platform at the apices of a quadrilateral which is substantially centered under the platform. A fluid supply system supplies the fluid cylinders and is operable at a first pressure to bring the elements into engagement with the platform and at a second pressure to elevate the platform and the body thereon when a vertical line through the center of gravity of the body is near the geometric center of the platform.
