PURPOSE:Preventive for dental caries which contains fine powder of hydrotalcite or hydrotalcite derivative as an active constituent, and prevents the dental caries by adsorbing and removing bacteria in the mount and neutralizing the acid, formed by the bacteria. CONSTITUTION:Hydrotalcite of formula I [A<n-> is n-valent (1-4 valent) anion; x, y and m are 0<x<0.5, 0<y<0.5 and 0<m<2] or a hydrotalcite derivative (e.g. a compound of formula II) is used as an active constituent. A<n-> is preferably F<->. The compound of formula I is used as fine powder having a good dispersibility. The preventive neutralized the acid formed by the bacteria (e.g. lactic acid), adsorbs. and removes the bacteria in the mouth, and moreover has no side-effects. Used as dentifrice, a gargling solution, etc. |
