<p>Centripetal extruders having an annular constant head feed zone pref. chilled, vented and with spokes to ensure good distribution, and a compression zone converging radially with grooves about 1 - 1.5 mm. deep to assist the feed before shear melting and centripetal extrusion becomes effective near the tip of the rotor. The rotor nose may be extended by an integral extrusion screw. Offers stable extrusion because the feed, compression and fusion zones are clearly defined and cannot suffer from over feeding. Feedstock degassing is efficient.</p> |
