<p>PURPOSE:To prepare the title compound, by hydroformylating allyl alcohol in the presence of a limited amount of a rhodium complex catalyst having an organic tri-substituted phosphine as a ligand, and distilling the reaction product in the absence of oxygen under reduced pressure. CONSTITUTION:Allyl alcohol is hydroformylated with CO and H2 to obtain the title compound. The reaction is carried out in the presence of a rhodium complex catalyst having an organic tri-substituted phosphine as a ligand. The phosphine is the one having a boiling point of >=200 deg.C, and its concentration is 5X10<-4>- 0.3mol per 1 liter of the solvent. The solvent is a good solvent of the catalyst and the reaction products, having a boiling point of <=200 deg.C, e.g. dodecane. The reaction product is distilled at <=80 deg.C under reduced pressure to obtain the objective compound. EFFECT:By-production of high-boiling compounds is prevented, and the catalyst can be recycled without purification. USE:Intermediate of 1,4-butanediol.</p> |
