This seal (1) comprises a metal casing of hollow profile having an anchoring part designed to be held in a housing (8) of the body (3) of a cock and an annular occluding part having an annular contact surface (11). It is designed to interact elastically with the annular bearing surface (6) of the occluder (5) in the service position of the seat. The seal is used with the seats of cocks and taps, in order to ensure extended smooth operation and high endurance in difficult conditions of use. <IMAGE>
