Shaped prefabricated foamed polyurethane padding for lining ski boots - resembling a sock partly split above the sides of the ankle

Flexible padding for use inside a sports shoe, esp. a skiboot, comprises a shaped liner in the form of a sock split above the ankle level for ease of entry, and the split is offset from the position of a conventional boot tongue. Non-alignment of the padding joint with the boot tongue improves comfort and inhibits penetration by external moisture etc. The split in the sock profile may face the inner or outer side of the boot upper. Mfr. of such padding from expanded polyurethane is described in FR 2111147.
