PURPOSE:The AC charge type centrifugal dust collector which is provided with the discharge electrode provided to the gas swirling axial center of a cyclone type dust collector and spiral grids between the inside walls of the containing body, has charged dust suction effect and dust redissipation preventing effect and is capable of effectively collecting dust of high electric resistance. CONSTITUTION:The dust-laden gas being introduced from the top of an outer barrel 1 falls down while being swirled by the inlet side inner barrel 8 and outer barrel 1. Ac high voltage is charged from a power source unit 12 to the discharge electrode 6 provided to the gas swirling axial center and charging of + and - is alternately repeated through AC corona discharging. This causes the dust to swirl while coagulating and fall down while its redissipation is being prevented by the induced voltage generated in the grids 7. The dust is captured in the dust hopper 2 outside the electric field by the separating cone 13 provided in the upper part of a lower hopper 3 and the purified gas is exhausted through outlet 14 via lower hopper 3.
